Bowen For Paws

The Canine Bowen Technique is a gentle, non-invasive, holistic modality that promotes body and energy rebalancing, healing and pain relief. It aims to support and boost the natural healing capabilities of the body. Problems frequently presented at Canine Bowen Technique sessions include:

• Arthritis and Muscular Sprains & Strains

• Lameness and Gait problems

• Hip & Elbow Dysplasia

• Chronic Illness and Degenerative Disease – Improving the dog’s quality of life

• Rescue/Re-homed dogs – Relaxation of tenseness from previous trauma

• Pre and Post Surgery – Reducing recovery times

This is a complementary therapy to be given in conjunction with, not as an alternative to, proper veterinary care. We insist that owners have their dog thoroughly checked over beforehand by their vet and get their vet’s written approval prior to commencing a Bowen session.

Community dogs and their specialist handlers help people to improve their independence, well-being and skills. And their Family Dog team gives advice and support to help families with an autistic child to get the most out of their relationship with their pet dog.

The Cinnamon Trust

The Cinnamon Trust’s primary objective is to respect and preserve the treasured relationship between owners and their pets. To this end it works in partnership with owners to overcome any difficulties that might arise. A national network of over 15,000 community service volunteers has been established to provide practical help when any aspect of day to day care poses a problem – for example, walking the dog for a housebound owner.

A national fostering service is provided for pets whose owners face a spell in hospital – volunteers take pets into their own homes and supply love and care in abundance until owner and pet can be reunited.

The Cinnamon Trust also provides long term care for pets whose owners have died or moved to residential accommodation which will not accept pets. Arrangements are made between owners and the Trust well in advance, so owners do have peace of mind in the knowledge that their beloved companion will have a safe and happy future. Emergency cards are available on request.
